This training offer is meant to support doctoral or postdoctoral students who will soon embark or are embarking on qualitative research within the field of global health. The training is structured into two components:
- Pre-recorded online course (MOOC-like videos): all are invited to watch these online lectures to gain an understanding of theories, methods and analysis techniques inherent to qualitative presearch. These online lectures should be completed before the 5-day in-person workshop.
- 5-day in-person workshoo in Heidelberg from 14 - 18 October 2024: selected to participate in the in-person workshop
The in-person workshop provides a valuable opportunity for participants to engage in learning, rich discussions and debates about qualitative approaches in their proposed or ongoing research projects. Participants exchange valuable insights with peers conducting similar research and receive constructive feedback on their own research proposals from leaders in the field of qualitative global health research.
Requirements for workshop participation:
- Member of GLOHRA
- Currently undertaking research in Global Health at the doctoral orpostdoctoral level
- Ability to complete all pre-recorded lectures (MOOC videos) prior to the workshop
- Eagerness to integrate qualitative methods into research that looks at achieving equity in health for all
