The upcoming GLOHRA Academy Series will be organized in cooperation with Amref Health Africa (Deutschland) on primary health care research.
The Series directs special attention towards the added value of interdisciplinary and international cooperation in global health research. Every first Tuesday of the month, speakers share insights into their research projects while focusing on research processes, methods, as well as lessons learned. Following the speaker’s 30-minute presentation, the Series encourages an academic exchange between the speaker and the audience in a 30-minute Q&A session.
Prof. Dr. Walter Bruchhausen is Professor of Global Health – Social and Cultural Aspects and heads the Section Global Health at the University of Bonn. His research focuses include Health Systems & Governance, Global Health Ethics & Human Rights, Medical Anthropology (especially healing and health seeking behaviour), and Global Health History, particularly in Africa (East & West) and Germany (West & East). In this presentation, he will address the long history of Primary Health Care between North and South, East and West, tracing how ideas of primary health care emerged, travelled and were reinterpreted across regions and political systems.
