- Received a record-breaking 50+ research proposals, of which five research projects were recommended for funding.
- Called for continued government support to advance global health research in the Subcommittee for Global Health in the German Bundestag and published two position papers on interdisciplinary research funding and research partnerships with LMICs.
- Held an election for the interdisciplinary, gender balanced 2024 - 2026 Steering Committee.
- Launched the GLOHRA Training Repository, which features more than 200 short courses, master’s courses and doctoral programs relevant to early career researchers seeking to advance their academic career in global health.
- Hosted more than 30 scientific events, including member-led workshops and trainings, attracting over 2200 participants.
- Secured renewed funding from the Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF) for an additional five years to further strengthen global health research in Germany. Additional support from the Gates Foundation will enhance policy engagement and strengthen the political competencies of the GLOHRA Steering Committee.
It is inspiring to see our community grow and evolve over the past five years. Our progress is driven by the dedication of our members, the leadership of our Steering Committee, and the operational support of the Secretariat. We are grateful to our funders for enabling this work. We look forward to the next five years of strengthening the global health research community in Germany!
