The Series directs special attention towards the added value of interdisciplinary and international cooperation in global health research. Every first Tuesday of the month, speakers share insights into their research projects while focusing on research processes, methods, as well as lessons learned. Following the speaker’s 30-minute presentation, the Series encourages an academic exchange between the speaker and the audience in a 30-minute Q&A session.
The upcoming GLOHRA Academy Series sessions will be organized in cooperation with FrOGH (France One & Global Health) and focus on One Health.
In the upcoming session, Dr. Alexandra Bahr will present “From sample to insight: A multi-matrix workflow for One Health AMR surveillance”, where she will discuss the methodological approach used for sample processing in a One Health context. Dr. Bahr is a researcher at the Helmholtz Institute for One Health, where she focuses on antimicrobial resistance in environmental and wildlife samples. Her work contributes to the development of the One Health Surveillance Platform, an integrated system for monitoring health threats across humans, animals, and the environmen. In her presentation, she will highlight how standardized processing methods can be applied to different types of samples to ensure comparability of results. In addition, she will showcase selected One Health surveillance projects in which this methodological approach has been applied.
