GLOHRA celebrates five years

Five highlights from the past five years

In February 2020, with support from the Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF), we set out to foster new collaborations across disciplines, institutions, sectors, and countries. As part of the Federal Global Health Strategy, GLOHRA has grown into a thriving research network advancing global health research within Germany and beyond.

In honor of this milestone, we celebrate five highlights from the past five years:

  • Established Germany's first Global Health Research Directory, cataloging the research profiles of our 1300+ members from more than 200 research institutions.
  • Engaged 8500+ participants in GLOHRA events, with 96% of attendees likely to recommend them to fellow global health researchers*
  • Established the Global Health Academy to support early career researchers through regular networking events, tailored training opportunities, and valuable resources like the Training Repository
  • Developed a strong online presence, with 10,000+ LinkedIn followers, and about 70,000 views across our 60+ YouTube videos
  • Held three elections for our interdisciplinary, gender-balanced, 19-member Steering Committee

Our journey is fueled by the dedication of our members, the leadership of our Steering Committee, and the operational support of the Secretariat. A heartfelt thank you to our funders for enabling this work. Here’s to many more years of strengthening global health research!
