GLOHRA celebrates its second year of supporting collaboration in global health research

Established in February 2020, the German Alliance for Global Health Research (GLOHRA) is excited to be celebrating its two-year anniversary. From the beginning, the goal of GLOHRA was to develop a sense of collaboration in global health research.

GLOHRA has achieved a lot in a short time, but in honor of our second birthday, we’ve decided to share just two high points from the past year:

  • The first projects recommended by the Steering committee officially started - seven of them! It was a particular highlight to meet the team members behind these research projects, including their international partners from as far away as Indonesia and Uganda, at GLOHRA day.
  • The Global Health Academy – a GLOHRA initiative to support early career researchers, officially launched! The Academy has already hosted 8 training events, including the monthly GLOHRA Academy Series, where research experts and developing researchers can dive into topics spanning all research disciplines.

The accomplishments that have been achieved so far have only been possible through the committement of the ambitious Steering Committee, the dedication and input from our members - now around 750 researchers - and the organizational support of the team at the Secretariat.

We look forward to sharing more and more memories as GLOHRA continues to grow and develop. In fact, we already have number of exciting ideas in the pipeline. We are proud to already be making a difference to the research community in and outside of Germany and will diligently continue this work.
