We are pleased to highlight GLOHRA’s key activities and developments over the past year, the 2025 Annual Report brings together our expanding research portfolio, standout events, and moments from across the community.

In 2025, GLOHRA…

  • entered our second five-year funding phase, generously supported by the Federal Ministry for Research, Technology and Space (BMFTR).
  • introduced the GLOHRA Prize for Global Health Research, awarding two outstanding teams annually with €5,000 each and enhancing the visibility of impactful, collaborative global health research and partnerships.
  • organized sessions at two leading international conferences: the European Congress on Tropical Medicine and International Health (ECTMIH) and the World Health Summit (WHS).
  • sent its Steering Committee on a fact-finding visit to Brussels to identify opportunities for strengthening global health research within the EU.
  • hosted over 28 scientific events, including member-driven workshops and training sessions, engaging more than 2,000 participants.
  • actively contributed to major global health discussions through 5 position papers and joint statements.

Over the past years, it has been remarkable to witness the continuous growth and development of our community. This progress is made possible by the commitment of our members, the guidance of our Steering Committee, and the ongoing support of the Secretariat. We also sincerely thank our funders for making this work possible. We are excited to continue building and strengthening the global health research community in Germany in the years ahead.
